Benefits Of Regular Exercise

Exercise is always one of those things that people either love or find extremely hard to do. It's not that the actual physical activity is difficult, just the motivation to continually work on yourself. Getting to the Gym a couple of times a week, believe it or not, can sometimes be a daunting task. Then there are those who love going to gym and without it, they would feel like a piece of their life is missing too.

So what are the benefits of having regular exercise? Why put yourself through the physical strain of weights and endurance when you can just sit at home all day?

Weight Management

As you get older, your motabolism will slowly deterioiate. This means your body won't be able to break down fatty foods as fast anymore, which means the food you used to eat that didn't put any weight on before, now will add a couple of pounds to your waistline. Which means you have to work harder to burn that fat off. By doing regular exercise, you can do this easily. A simple 30 minute walk a day or 15 minute jog can help improve your weight and make sure you're burning off calories every single day. You don't need to run for hours; you just need to be consistant with it.

Over the course of 6 months, I ran 3 times a week for 15 minutes and managed to lose almost 2 stone- and I barely changed my diet. My diet isn't full of fatty things, but I did have a takeaway once a week or so. Try out a few exercises a week and see where it gets you.

Boost Your Feel Good Feeling

Working out is one of the best ways to get you out of a depressive slump. Exercise helps boost your serotonin levels, something which creates good feelings in your body and mind, so you can naturally help get out of feeling like you're stuck in a rut. Not only that, but it can help you feel energized, improving your productivity levels at work and boost your own motivation in life. I went from working 2-3 hours a day to working 5-6 hours a day because I felt good about myself. I work from home so it's vitally important to have a good motivation level and creativity level, all of which exercise can boost.

Improve Self-Confidence

Not only does working out improve your mental state of mind, it also will help boost your self confidence. Feeling slimmer and agile is a great way to boost your feelings on your own appearance, especially if you constantly find yourself judging your self-worth. You'll feel fit and able to do anything with a little bit of stamina and it's a great feeling to know you can go for a walk without wheezing by the end of it. Being overweight also has several health problems associated with it, so you'll be giving yourself a health boost too!
